It ain't Izzi being easy

Woke up yesterday eager to dig in to crabs! The weather wasn't lovely, but I'm slightly mad cause "I'm only happy when it rains". Settled the fees and everything and the seafood trip was cancelled... :( No more crabs for my fingers to pry open then. Poor poor. So there was a "congregation" on "What to do then?", *I kept saying karaoke, but no one seemed to want to agree or disagree, my voice went with the wind outside*
Soon it was decided that we went for Shabu-Shabu. I-Rene suggested 1U. but I forgot what happened, but we didn't end up going there. hahah we headed for Kepong instead. Let's see, the each person a little boiler concept is pretty nice but the food is just.. erm.. normal? The sauce is terrific though. hahaha Would I go to all the trouble to go there again? Nope. Unless somehow I'm in that vicinity and the company I'm with wants to go there.
Everyone was stuffed after that, so no dessert for us... Sob sob... then we headed for Karaoke... sigh.... Well at least we get to sing. Wanted to sing Cyndi Wang... LOL.... but the Sin Ying chose so many... -.-"" I think halfway through the session, I didn't feel like singing anymore... *I stopped enjoying myself? Oh dear.... what's wrong with me?* I felt rather content watching the music videos or rather guessing the chinese characters. Haha... *I might as well have stayed at home and surfed youtube eh?*
Rushed home to get ready for dinner. Watched tv and read the papers at the same time. Received a message from Strawbs that she would leave her house at 7.15pm. *Takes less than 5 minutes to reach my house from hers*. 7.30pm.... Mum said: "Takes so long from her house to come here meh?" Then she arrives.. hahaah
Reached Izzi!
Surprisingly we were the first to arrive. LOL... Started taking pictures and thus begins my first "official" photologview. Wk, no longer evil devil and yi lin bong reached and we ordered our drinks first. After maybe about 20 minutes only did How Han, Function & SK arrive along with our drinks.. My guess is that they probably took it from Starbucks that's why it took them so darn long... -.-"
Allowed the rest to study the menu to finally order.
Let's see.. Function & SK ordered the Carbonara.
According to Function, it ain't nice. But Yi Lin felt it wasn't half bad.
How Han ordered....
I don't think he liked his either. Oh he ordered mushroom soup too.
WK ordered....
Chicken Steak with Pasta
Shu Wei had...
Grilled Butterfish with Tomato Coulies, which had really wonderful presentation. hehe
Mei Shea's was...
Baked Cheese Macaroni... there was a typo on the menu.. unless it wasn't a typo?
I tasted a little, it felt like Mac & Cheese, the cheese was too sour for my liking.... According to her, it was like Mac & Cheese, very little chicken.
Me & Yi Lin shared
Pollo Tropicale Pizza &
Cheese Dough Ball? I forgot the name.. hehe.. It was a starter though...
The pizza was ok, the base didn't ebcome soggy & all as it cooled down, but it didn't really meet my expectations... I prefer Domino's -.-" Puzzini's is still the best though... LOL. The Cheese Dough Ball thingy was ok. If U left it there to "absorb" the air-cond, the bun would be hard on the outside but on the inside it's still soft & nice... hehe
After that, the majority wanted to catch a movie, so I played along.. sadly there weren't any nice times.... Both in TGV & GSC. Walked pass my favourite shop in 1U. There was a bear that is really cute! But I already have tonnes so no more...
Ended up at Friendster cafe. The jam heading to Kota Damansara was horrible. Mei Shea took the jammed up route while wk didn't. Imagine. They already reached Friendster cafe but we were still at 1U's traffic light... *smacks head*
Pretty tired by the time we got there... Played some games.. the last game was uno stacko which was also the silliest. We only palyed one game of that cause we needed to leave. 3 people into the game, How Han had a hard time finding a nice piece to take. wk was next and he made it fall. Shu Wei, me & Yi Lin didn't even get a chance to pull.. -.-"" LOL...
The service at Friendster was I would say good, thier service people were nice & friendly... But the frink I would say is overpriced. Oh well, there's a first for everything.
Till then cheerios.
P.S. Strawbs really needs new music for her car....Labels: Emo, Gibberish, Munch, Review

Eh, got free ticket ah?
Friday, November 30, 2007
Apparently someone did get a free ticket. But that later.
Yesterday it poured out of the blue, it felt like those days where thing that could possibly go wrong would eventually get wrong. It was 5pm, Chelle called & I rushed to get ready, rushed myself for that adrenaline feel. *What the heck?* Wong Kam Kam arrived and we reached BSC in the heavy rain where most of the cars were going at 40-50kmph...
Had an odd time collecting the tickets... and went to Chilli's to Chill.. hehe.. Chelle was quite "gan jiong" I have no idea why.. only 7 whut... 8 o'clock only the show starts... * We found out after that it was 8.30 pm.. -.-""* There were 2 false alarms before the eventual alarm actually went off...
I forgot what we were doing but Vat & Yeen was suddenly at the side of our table.. Surprising! Yeen was genuinely surprised too... Obviously, cause we were supposed to surprise her anyway... Had dinner and pretended that we weren't going to the show. Chatted too.. the chatting stopped when we heard the Chilli's staff singing "Happy Birthday" to a boy near our table. The chattering continued... Chelle & I agreed that Yeen thought it was for her.. whahahahha teruknya kita....
We continued chit chatting and all. Everyone had a story how nice... As always I don't... sad... Lied that we needed to leave soon. cause we *Me & Chelle* still thought that the show was starting at 8pm. Soon another cake came out of the kitchen accompanied by the birthday song. I was thinking.. "Wah so many people's birthday today." Then it stopped at our table. "Huh? wrong table ah?" *Cause I thought Vat wasn't getting a cake* We looked quizzically at the staff and sensing something was wrong the staff felt a little odd and then thier "Happy Birthday" waned a little too... hahahha... The cake was confirmed to be ours... but it definitely surprised us all. Vat's friend dropped it off for our table. How nice.. Thank U to her! Mana tahu the cake was for me also. hahaha cause I insisted on getting one for Yeen's, so they had to get one. wahhahaha thank U Vat & Chelle... Though a slice was enough... ok k.. I know.. don't whine anymore..
Then the presents were given out. Yeen had the free ticket for "Eh, got free ticket ah?" and she went, "No.. I'm paying for the ticket.... No.. No" and I had a voucher for a free meal at any restaurant in BSC and I went "No, where can.. don't want.. it's too expensive" *Jeez, why can't anyone just accept thier present graciously eh?* No wonder Chelle asked me to pick... ish... Since we already acted that we weren't going for the show though Yeen insisted... We continued acting.... We left first... met them at the escalator and said oh.. we were looking for times... -.-"" *I bet she suspected something*
Vat & Yeen waited on the left while Me & Chelle waited on the right... Let them in first and casually walked in... She was surprised again.. wahhahaha syoknya...
Now for the show: The show had Zak "Papi" Kamal as the opening act. There were some funny ones... but the build up was kinda long so it felt a little slow... I like me funnies to keep coming... not laugh for 2 minutes then break for 5 mins. I like mine to come every minute! hahaha so picky.. -.-" But Jit Murad was more to my kinda funny... He was quick and witty but occasionally a little too political for a person who doesn't like reading politics. The last act was Harith Iskandar... Personally I don't really like him.. I dunno why, but he wasn't that bad.. but again.. his style wasn't too my liking, the build up was a little dragging... At the beginning of one of the acts the act, I think it was Harith, he asked "who had free tickets to the show? We stared at Yeen.
Time passed quite fast though as when we came out it was 11pm.. not bad... Throughout the show I was wondering how they were gonna use a guite by the side of the stage, in the end they didn't use it... hehe
Ended the night with some McD's and went home in a fogging Wong Kam Kam. I think we were kinda paranoid at the car park area or going towards the car park area... hehe... Anyway, it was a nice nite... I'm not wondering what other plays should I go... hahaha

Apologize, Cinta
Sunday, October 14, 2007
Wow another post? I must be really free... hyuk hyuk.. to erm.. state what I want to say... I bet a lot of people have heard the song "Apologize" by "Timbaland feat. Onerepublic". It's a great song! But the original is so much better!! Timbaland only added the beats... oh well... he kinda gave Onerepublic a push up the stardom ladder. so it's good for both teams I guess... Still.. the Original is better! Way better!
Now on a different note... a couple months ago, there was this Malay movie... yes.. Malay movie *I watch Hindi movies, what's wrong with watching Malay movies?* that I wanted to watch.. It was called "Cinta". It's about love.... *cinta =love in malay* there are different kinds of love here, a total of 5 kinds of love here. The stories weren't too long nor were they too short... which is good. However I suspect the tv version had been cut a little... not to mention the colour wasn't very nice *kinda dark* and the sound wasn't very good *kinda muffled* but there wasn't much dialogue either so it ain't half bad.
This film had lots of erm.. professional actors. Sharifah Amani and her mum was in it, Pierre Andre was in it, Fasha Sandha too, *she's pretty* and famous actors which I saw before but cannot recall their names. Yesterday, *Hari Raya hari 1* ntv7 was showing it...
It was a very touching show... thank goodness I didn't make it into the cinema to watch this or my t-shirt sleeve would be soaked with tears.... *how exaggerating* I hope a lot of people saw it... it's a nice show. Well.. I liked it, my "nice" and ur "nice" might be different though.... Hmmm... wonder what other nice shows are there...Labels: Gibberish, Movie, Review

KL Pac: Comedy Court
Sunday, September 23, 2007
Got a chance to step into KL Pac on yesterday. What a cool place. I suspect it was formerly a factory though... the space is very factory like, but the whole area, Sentul Park, is really pretty!!! It was night time so couln't really see the true baeuty but it was beautiful at night nonetheless.. They had these wire sofa sets which are pretty amazing but not very comfortable, it's steel what can U expect huh?
Must be wondering what was I doing in KL Pac anyway? Right, to answer that here's a picture... *and if U haven't read the title of this entry*
The tickets to enter... There's a small line of words that states the show.. wonder if U caught it...

Yeap, I went for a Comedy Court's 10th Anniversorry by Indi Nadarajah & Allan Perera. It was an amzaing show... very funny though I couldn't get some of the clips because the audio for some of them wasn't very good. They both have very good voices! Although Allan talked more, thier chemistry was hard to miss. Their impersonations were spot on. Allan with his hat looked a bit like Michael Jackson from the top... hahaha.. wodner if that's a compliment or and insult...
Shall look forward to shows by them... Wonder if I'll still have the chance... The show was well worth the money.. It ended rather late though, was kinda tired after that... So people, U still have the chance to catch it and appreciate Malaysian Comedy at it's best!
Can go to KL Pac's Website or Comedy Court's... *Google them, I don't want to link em.. there are records!*
Cheerios peeps... shall update soon.Labels: Gibberish, Gush, Review

Saturday, August 18, 2007
Hello Readers! I'm feeling pretty tired right now, something is exhausting me, I think it's the stuff in my brain. Forget about that, let's start with todays topic of the day "2 "Stars", 2 Dates, 1 Reaction".
Star 1
Likes wearing the hoods on hooded jackets
Likes "Usagi"
Likes Japanese Music
Likes to say very "pantang" things
Can be quite scary with her thoughts occasionally
Date: 17th August 2007 for 18th August 2007
Star 2
Likes cute emoticons
Likes checking out the mirror *for what purpose, one should be able to guess now*
Likes to make cute voices *for what purpose? I truly don't know*
Likes moving hands around when talking *very animated*
Almost always meddles with her phone everytime I see her
Date: 18th August 2007 for 15th August 2007
Situation 1:
It was a bright sunny monring, 8 people gathered at a housing estate and slowly approached a house. 1 gallant knight approached the gate, the drawbridge was down. 7 soldiers stayed at the side, out of sight. However; the drawbridge began to rise but went back down again. The soldiers slowly crept to the bridge but one soldier got found out, so the 7 soldiers had to give up and released the cannons. The lady of the castle was awoken by the release of cannons, some cannon balls were too close for comfort. The signature "uh...." was heard from the lady of the castle. Her sleepiness overcame her sense of thought and surprised she was.
Situation 2:
It was a sunny afternoon but dark clouds were threatening to form. 3 archers arrived at the outskirts castle. There were many towers, which one was it. One pointed to the right one, but to be sure one had to find out. The lady in waiting said she would be out *odd.. shouldn't the lady in waiting be waiting?* 2 archers hid beneath the stairs as footsteps were heard. Puzzled looks appeared on the passerby's face. Soon a door was open and a familiar voice was heard. The footsteps approached the 2 archers in haste. Another Archer was waiting in the doorway. Lady in waiting came down and wondered "why are there legs under the stairs?" AMBUSH!!! Surprised? I guess she was.
Gift 1:
Gift 2: "The Colour Picker"
Hope both "Stars" have enjoy thier gifts. Have a nice year! Ain't a teen no more...Labels: Gibberish, Review

OFE 101
Thursday, August 02, 2007
I just picked up this new subject, OFE 101. It's a wierd subject, "Ordering Food Etiquette 101".. who needs to know how to order? Jeez, u just point or say whatever U want and u get it after a couple of minutes or so.. SO why did I pick this subject up? Well... to teach all fellow readers Robbstar "Ordering Food Etiquette 101". That's right! I'm gonna teach U how to order food just like yours trully, Robbstar... hahah
So without further ado let's begin!
Chapter 1: Ordering Fast Food
You *can be with or without friends* enter, line up and browse the menu shown above the heads of the cashiers. Squint your eye as the menu's backlight is a little bright and the colour of the menu is too contrasting... Deliberate between Value Meal 3 & 4 *can be any 2, whicever you prefer* and when the cashier says "Good Afternoon / Good Night / Good Morning" Tell her U want Value Meal 5 *can be any value meal that wasn't in consideration before*, oh and tell them U don't want coke but Sprite *or any other drink that's to your liking*....
Chapter 2: Ordering Food at a new Restaurant which has a host or hostest *new restaurant meaning one that you ayhve never been to, therefore new to U*

Part 1: Wait for the host or hostest to bring You *with or without company* to your table. Always ask for the seat that the host or hostest didn't bring you to, unless of course if the table given to you is too tempting to reject! Sit down and skim through the menu, roughly estimating the number of pages. If you have company, comment on the number of pages the menu has, ie. "wah! this menu so thick." 'Why the menu look so... one kind one?" Do comment on the pictures in there as well, ie "wah this one looks nice! *while pointing eagerly and showing companion* "why the pictures look so unappetising one..." "wah! see also want to eat!" *If you have noticed, the word "WAH" further exaggesrates things*
Part 2: Fight with yourself over what dish and drink to order. Get the waiter/ waitresses attention and ask her, "what's good here?"
All good waiters & waitresses would say "everything is good!"
A smart waiter /waitress would say "it depends on what one likes, what do you like?"
A very brave waiter/ waitress would say "Honestly speaking, if you looking for good food, you are at the wrong place because we only serve EXCELLENT food here." *i haven't come across one like this yet*
As the answers are almost never satisfactory you ask a different question "what would u recommend?" Let the waiter / waitress tell you the chef's recommendation etc etc... then explain, "I don't eat beef" *or any eating preferences* Waiter/ waitress goes "oh, then........ la la la...." U go "I see....." Then always order a dish that the waiter/ waitress recommended, we wouldn't want a bad experience now would we?
Next we head to ordering drinks... Now certain rules apply
1. Choose anything that seems nice *try not to order the tried and tested, you are in a new place, try something new for goodness knows sake*
2. if you are on a budget, don't pick the most expensive, if you are not, choose as you please... If you are flat broke and don't fancy any special drinks to compliment your meal, ask if the restaurant serves plain water...
3. Now the following rule is a must.
As a restaurant with a host or hostest would definitely have fanciful drinks made of a certain amount of juices or even delightfully refreshing cocktails. Ask what this "mixed up" drinks are made of.... Of course if it's already written down, don't be an arse and ask again... After this choose whichever U fancy or.... pick one that isn't a "mixed up" drink, cause the "mixed up" drink jsut made u more confused than ever...
Chapter 3: Ordering at kiosks
In this instance, my understanding of kiosks that sell food or beverages are those that suddenly pop out of the usual shop unit and seems out of place one way or another, they might seem in place, but when it's disappeared, you don't even realise that there was even a shop there before...
Again like in Chapter 1, analyse the menu above the cashier/cook's head.
Part 1: For food
Struggle a little and choose the most tempting of the menu. Announce your order to the cashier/ cook then pause a little and ask "Nice ah?". The cashier / cook would generally say, yeah but if you encounter an honest one, he or she would say "not bad lar, but I prefer the other one" You consider the other one and say "Ok lar.. I take that"
Part 2: For beverages *smoothie bar, juice bar*
Ask what are in the menu's beverages if it's not listed in the menu. Ask for a recommendation. Try to accept the cashier/ barista's recommendation... pay and happily enjoy the drink / smoothie or ice cream or whatever...
That is almost the end of the course, there are a few odd ends that need to be answered first
1. Beverage is included in OFE 101 because a good companion of Food is Drinks!
2. OFE 101 is to give a little insight into how the Robbstar orders, one need not follow, it's at best an odd ordering guide...
Summary of this 3 chapter course
1. If you are unsure, always ask.
2. Be curious
3. Always accept the recommendation of the person working there.
4. Always deliberate while ordering
Now after reading the summary, 3 questions will pop up...
1. The first summary doesn't need further questioning so there are no questions..
2. Why must I be curious?
Easy, by being curious, u open up yourself to new things. You get to know what are a restaurant's specialties, what certain beverages are made of.
3. Why must i accept other people's recommendation? Can't I make my own?
You can make your own, but it's riskier that way.... To enjoy one's first encounter with a restaurant, it's better to taste the tried and tested, these dishes would normally be the best, IF the waiter / waitress was a good one to start of with. If the experience wasn't satisfactory, you can always vow to "never return" because of poor recommendation and no one can blame you.
4. Why must I deliberate while ordering? That is so wierd...
By deliberating, you show ur uncertainty, and when the waiter or waitress or whoever that was serving you picks up on this signal would lead you into the direction that enables you to have a wonderful consuming experience.
With that, OFE 101 has ended, there wouldn't be any test, by commenting, one would get an A+ and free from anymore ordering qualms *LOL*Labels: Gibberish, Review, Thoughts

20.07.2007
Friday, July 20, 2007
Ah the time has arrived and the once in an entire lifetime number has appeared! I didn't do anything that was particularly memorable/ special to commemorate this fateful day, which means I didn't go rock climbing, kayaking, had a makeover or even jump out of a plane.... BUT it was quite a meaningful one. For me, it would be the most meaningful. :)
Had a little surprise waiting for me in the morning with a makeshift cake, had a surprise outside the cinema's toilet *it was that or in the cinema... omg... I will blush till the next day... hahaha*
Watched "Invisible Target"

and Surpise! Surprise! It was really entertaining! I actually think it's better than "Transformers", yeah U read right... It was quite a typical story line actually, one could roughly guess what was going on, but the direction was really nice, I actually felt like I was experiencing events at the same time the characters on screen were... Very nice! If it were split into 6 parts, it would be 3 parts Action, 2 parts Comedy and 1 part Drama. Good stuff... I actually kinda liked Jaycee Chan's role... hahah very goody... hahah oh, he looks A LOT like Jackie Chan... but i think Jaycee is cuter... hahahah oh the main bad guy was pretty cute too... lol... I didn't catch his name though... * oh wait, I found out it's Wu Jing, his pic below...*

I think i detoured a little, never mind there should be more detours... This day had a few firsts too, I went to Bar-B-Que Plaza *I have no idea how it's spelled*, it was quite a long eating process, and i asked quite a number of silly questions, hahaha but the food was ok, the sauce was nice too... *omg, my fav song is on! lol* At the restaurant, I also experienced a first regarding service. I would say it was bad or anything, but the server's attitude was little off? depends on how one sees it, but I think she was a little too playful? Didn't work for me though, I'm a more reserved person, so work your charm elsewhere, I was just felt it really odd.
I mean have u ever encontered a situation where the server takes your cup to refill your drink, U look up at the person and the server goes *this might be a bad translation* "What? you don't want is it?" I said "er... no need lar" *i kinda thought she was joking* Then she actually continued saying "So U want or not?". I was like "No, no need, I don't want" then she kinda gave me a look and said "ok lor" and walked off... ODD.... There were other situations too, I don't want to.... oh what the heck..
I just recapped the second "episode", the first was when she asked us for our student id's, then everyone was kinda lazy to take theirs out... then she said "no one want to give then no discount ah" I kinda asked the Coffeeholic to take hers before, but I dunno what got into me so I attempted to take mine too, the Coffeeholic was faster than me, then the waitress went "so slow, people faster than U lor"... er ok...
3rd episode, while bringing the cake, she wanted to take the cheque book, I stopped her and said we haven't paid yet, *if you are wondering why the cheque book was there, the people there though we wanted the bill, -.-"" and made a little round to show it to us... -.-"* She said, "Huh? haven't paid yet ah?" with a really are u kiddin me look. All it all, quite a weird shop hahahah ok next...
Kinda walked around the mall after, I don't seem to be able to find a bag that I really like, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough or maybe the theory of "what U want U can't find, but what U don't want just pops up everytime!" Soon them mates left one by one and it was "time to say goodbye"... I collected my last paycheck from my previous work... It felt a lot, I dunno, I forgot how hard I worked... Bought Lee Hom's Cd... more on that later...
Another first today would be, I met a girl who lived in Britain her entire life but has very little British slang... she even speaks cantonese... wow... She's my mum's primary Best Friend's daughter... I think i actually look her age... about 4 years younger than I am... hahahha.. interesting this..

Another first would be listening to Lee Hom's newest album for the first time. I would say it is the best so far.. haha in his 2 previous albums I skipped a few songs, this album is unskippable, to me... nice nice.. I like it.. Especially the beats... nice stuff... 3 thumbs up!!! Oh and he's kinda into the environmental stuff too considering the minimal packaging and his list of things to save the environment.. nice!
What other firsts could there be? hmmm... Oh yes! I actually drove at night! hahah for quite a short distance though... "for a person that has gotten her license for a long time and only driving now is pretty bad" It's quite different, it's kinda hard to see the white stop line.... anyway....
To top the "day" it rained a little.. and you know what happens when it rains? "I'm only happy when it rains" hahaha It was only for a short while though...
I think I'm beginning to grasp the concept of birthdays, it's not what U do, but who you spend it with.... as long as one has good comapny, a birthday cannot go wrong... :) apart from that today will be the most meaningful cause along the way as I was trying to figure out what I was trying to do, I realised that the things that I wanted to do wasn't so powerful to coerce myself to do it, I managed to figure out that life isn't just about yourself but also other people, so I gave back a little to the community. *I didn't volunteer, I don't think I'm at that stage yet, I wonder if I ever will be" I actually did it without my mum forcing me... that is so odd... I think I'm changing...
I did another thing that I always wanted to do but just never got round to doing it... I applied to donate my organs actually pledge, cause I won't be donating it yet... :D I feel glad that I actually did though my Dad kinda protested, why? I have no idea.... It was quite scary filling in the form though.. hahaha especially the part where it said which organ U would like to donate.. hahaha.. SO if U want to pledge your organs or know more about pledging them, click here
And since this 20.07.2007 thingy has things to do with numbers.. what what happening to me at exactly 20:07, on 20.07.2007? I fired up my mp3 player and played the next song on the list and miraculously it was a song titled Happy Birthday in Chinese... I didn't even realise it was 20:07 till I checked out what time it was... hahaha
So it was a Good 20.07.2007! I finished typing this before 12 am!Labels: Emo, Gush, Movie, Review, Thoughts

Moments to Remember
Sunday, June 24, 2007
I noticed I haven't blogged about a movie in a while, probably due to the fact that I am not a very good reviewer and that I haven't had teh mood to catch up on movies or because the due to the fact that reviews are hard to write? My fav is the il mare one.. hahahha... ok cut things short. Just finished watching another sad movie. Yesterday I saw "Happy Birthday" touching but sad too... But I won't be blogging bout that cause I couldn't find a decent picture?
Today I shall review "A Moment to Remember"

Yeap it's a korean film. I'm crazy enough to obtain em but too lazy to watch them... *click play also lazy...* I initially wanted to watch a different movie but this show won over cause it's already quite old and I wanted to watch Son Ye Jin... hahaha... *the other one had Moon Geun Young*
Ok I just typed a long paragraph of a synopsis that I just deleted cause that wasn't what I want cause it's better to not know the full story of a movie. No? Ok let's begin. The movie had typical everyday characters, people that one wouldn't notice on an everyday basis. The relationship was kept simple and nice. The characters were also well developed. Both the actor & the actresses carried thier roles well. One a man of a sad past and another, a person that seems so forgetful. But fate is a strange thing and strange things happen in movies that makes it all so touching & saddening at the same time. The movie deals with the sadness of being stricken with a kind of sickness, one that leaves U feeling so lost and that is so sad to watch.
Eventhough I knew the storyline beforehand *the twist & all, cause a little bird told me... * I still feel sad... maybe cause my tearducts like doing overtime... It was a nice show from the beginning to the end. This I like... though generally I accept a lot of movies except really crappy ones.....
So I know this wasn't a good review but I like picking favourite scenes... So here goes...
Favourite scenes (Sad or happy, I wouldn't say which was which):
- Su Jin (Son Ye Jin) & Chul Soo (Jung Woo Seong) at the Batting cage.
- Chul Soo foiling a snatch thief's escape
- Su Jin in Chul Soo's car.
- Su Jin remembering the first time she met Chul Soo
- Chul Soo & Su Jin seeing a plot of land Chul Soo was eyeing.
- Chul Soo telling Su Jin the inspiration behind the design of the house.
- Su Jin trying the smoothen a piece of wood.
- Chul Soo reading Su Jin's note at the table.
- Su Jin irritating Chul Soo to meet her parents...
- Su Jin arriving at the Family Mart and asks Chul Soo if it was heaven.
- Su Jin drinking "her" coke.
- Chul Soo drinking "his" coke.
- The way Su Jin reacts when she sees Chul Soo in the lift
- Su Jin snooping around Chul Soo's car.
- Chul Soo's wood carving.
- Chul Soo alone in the batting cage.
A long list it is... i wanted to add more but only those that seen it will know which scene it was so basically this entry is like a "syok sendiri" post. SO if ur up for a little tear duct action go ahead and watch this movie. I give it 2 thumbs up. I would give it 3 if only I had 3 thumbs... hahaha
P.S. This week readers get a "double whammy". 2 post in a week. Back to back too!
P.P.S Incidentally, "A Moment to Remember" will be shown this Saturday.. hahahaLabels: Gush, Movie, Review

- better to have low expectations than high ones
- alcohol is expensive
- do not stay too long in the Sun
Port Dickson
- dirty beaches are a turn off
- little sleep is no good
- difficulty in socialising is a restraint
Kuantan
- shall not over indulge
- too much food ain't good
- ASTRO ain't good on weekends
Langkawi
- sometimes things look scarier than it seems
- I get easily irritated
- I'm pretty crabby
- crabby most of the time
- alcohol cheaper than coconut
- cheap choccies = expiration near
The above were the findings from the 4 destination "tour", further research is needed to explain the findings further.
A short summary of the 4 destination "tour":

4. Kuantan
The above was a very short summary of the 4 destination tour, an extensive report will be held private and confidential.

Sun Kissed Skin
Thursday, April 26, 2007
Soft hot sand, deep cool sea,
Bright fiery Sun, hidden timid moon,
A little shine, a little time,
The sun kissed skin will arise.
I think that sounds like a song and yes it does not rhyme unlike the previous one I wrote. I'm actually writing this entry again cause I didn't like the last one was to messy in one way or the other. So let's start over.
I'm on my way
I just came back from Perhentian today pretty amazing place still untouched by commercialism but I think it's getting there or maybe I'm wrong. Stayed at Lily Chalet, Long Beach which had a fine beach in front where we *10 of us* spent most of our sun time. The room that I shared with 3 other mates was pretty dark but we didn't really care. There was sand everywhere though, was slightly irritated by it but gave up after realising that the sand will never go away. My guess is that the chalet owner is called Lily... *ain't it obvious* *ok skip*

Lily Chalet at night
oh the menu was also filled with pictures of lillies... how cute... I-Rene noticed that, I just noticed that the food looked so unlike the pictures in the menu... haha

The beach is pretty amazing but would sound just like a typical beach from any story book you read that describe beaches.
"Once you set foot on the sand you feel it's softness tempting you to step longer eventhough the heat from the sand is creeping up into your feet. To lose the heat you set foot into the crystal clear blue sea water and feel a sudden urge to stay in the water all day long. The soft sand beneath your feet, the cool water slowly lapping into the beach makes you want to lie there and while away your tiem gazing at the clear blue sky with hints of clouds floating about forming odd shaped animals"
Wonder if I describe it well cause that was how it is... U just couldn't wait to step into the sea it is so tempting U could just forget about everything and stay in the water all day long... Alas words cannot describe it's true beauty and there is a saying that a picture paints a thousand words but not all pictures do that, sometimes U just have to see to believe.

Water activities tooked up most of our time in Perhentian Kecil, it was spent either snorkelling or soaking in the cool water. Snorkelling was nice for a real beginner like me. It was quite intimidating at first but after awhile you get the hang of it. The guide was great help too. However; things don't always go as it does and a certain kind of animal refuses to allow us enjoy the wonders of nature.
10 people enemy #1 was the jellyfishes. They were in every snorkelling spot that we wanted to go. We were afraid the first trip but for the second trip we gave up and jumped into the tempting sea anyway. Luckily for us no one got stung by it. Saw a lot of fishes that I couldn't identify. I think I saw a tuna fish but I ain't sure, I saw Nemo though *yeap he was hanging around one of the stalls at Kuala Besut.. nyahahha* Yeah saw a few clown fishes, they are really small. I saw a pair of fishes fighting/ kissing which looked really cute.
Tried the banana boat. We fell only once which was good enough for me cause I didn't feel very safe. It would have been fun if you felt safe. Slept on the beach too for about 20 minutes I think. Not under the Sun mind you.
On one of the snorkelling trips there was a bunch of Chinese men trying to catch the sea. Oh how we wished thier ship would just topple over sadly their smart guide was able to balance the boat for them. Frankly speaking the odds of poking a small fish with an umbrealla is like experiencing snow in Malaysia. Now I know actions speak a lot about a person's character like how silly a couple of us are... myself included. hehe
examples of silliness, knocking on wrong doors, jumping around running away from a cat that is as big as a water bottle, being scared by the before mentioned cat.... I think that's about it... no other silliness so sad....
Hmm let's see, lodging covered, activities covered, AHA the food. Hmmm... what can I say the food was BEYOND my wildest imagination * not wildest lar, it just exceeded my expectations* I was expecting fried rice or fried mee but we had 5 people sharing 4 dishes and a soup with rice of course not to mention a plate of fruits plus drinks to quence our thirst. *we took a package, so I naturally expected less* Good stuff 2 thumbs up, oh it was at the chalet itself so we didn't have to walk far. Their staff were pretty friendly too though sometimes I didn't really get them... hehe.. oh thier ice lemon tea was pretty special, jakun kid like me never see before, the put an entire tea bag into the ice lemon tea and my guess is they squeezed the lemon though the a lot of sacs were inside... was pretty nice actually eventhough I don't like tea.

Ah the restaurant had Astro too and they ahd internet as well... a big satelite dish sat behind the bar next to the restaurant... it's like RM30 for an hour... that's like almost half of my streamyx bill... gasp... well life's like that. Look's like I got everything covered or have I? Oh I didn't mention our jakunness snapping pictures right before leaving where everyone at the restaurant were staring... malunya... I also didn't mention the alcohol or the lack of it, I also didn't mention the the walks to the other end of the beach, I didn't mention the lack of asian faces at "our" side of the beach too, I didn't mention my fear of the boat capsizing hehehe
I also forgot to mention about the STARS... When night fell the stars stood out from the vast dark sky, a little twinkling made the sky all the more mesmerizing and I believe on our first day there I actually saw the moon smiling *no I wasn't intoxicated*. I actually wanted to lie on the beach with a nice drink and stare at the sky, didn't do that though cause didn't want to dirty my clothes... the sad thing was that I couldn't identify any constellations... there were just too many I guess...
I also failed to mention the schools of fishes swimming near the opposite end of the beach.... reminded me of Pangkor.... hehheheh
The final point that I missed was that I failed to mention that some of us woke up at 5 almsot 6 to wait for the sunrise and Mr. Sun took his precious time to wake up... alas it was a cloudier day and Sir Cloud won the day as Mr. Sun was blocked *the reason being the cloud is a sir and the sun is only a cloud.. -.-"*

No wonder Sir Cloud won, he had a horse to help him...
More things that I failed to mention was that the sea water was extra salty and burned the eyes as it fell into em, another thing is that I spent too much time under the Sun I got sun burn sans the title... hehe...
ok I think that's about it I hope U guess enjoyed this summarized version of the Perhentian trip and I wonder if a picture does paint a thousand words. Bye Bye Perhentian, Hello speedboat...

First jumping fest
Sunday, April 22, 2007
Woah... I legs are kinda killing me.... I'll be leaving for Perhentian tonite but first! I shall blog about the concert I attended yesterday... hehehhe My first ever concert and I picked rock... that's why my feet are killing me... so let's start it off....
Reached the stadium about 6 ish.. doors open at 6... we queued up like a km away.. that was how long the queue was... too bad we weren't VIP but irregardless.... took some pictures and did some catching up *pictures are with the peridot and I'm rushing to post this up.. so none for U guys* about 7:45 we rushed to the entrance as they opened up more lines....
went in shouted Fuyoh and got free "boomers"? which we discraded about 30 mins after... managed to squeeze to the end of the first half of the crowd... the view wasn't really nice but the atmosphere was great! MTV had 2 huge screens there and they kept playing the head lining act's music videos to build up our energy I guess....
waited for like an hour before the MTV veejays came on stage an "warm us up" they threw out freebies but thier hands were not strong enough.... jeez... so none for me... but before that got some fella throwing out freebies... Jac got a mousepad... hahhaha.. Oh Ashraf Sinclair was there and Jac wanted to take a picture with him and one lead to another and we were soon doing some pretty embarassing stuff... suffice to say "THANK GOD I HAVE NO ASTRO!!!!"
A couple minutes after the MTV VJ's went off stage the first opening act came one... One Buck Short.... pretty rocking stuff but didn't really know their stuff.... The jumping was nice... took the pain outta the legs... After that was Estranged and man "Itu Kamu" is awesome!!!!! The whole place was singing along to it.. so darn cool.... after Estranged left the stage... we started shouting for Good Charlotte... poor Lo he didn't even perform yet... hahhaha
Lo was great too.... I think cause he was more experienced then the other bands... Headed out for some drinks and kena kutuk gila... One particular guy was so pissed off that we were trying to get out... *maybe cause I didn't say excuse me?* anyone kena kutuk cause the water cost a bomb.. irregardless I ahd a little glo stick... hehehehe.. so cute the thing.. I wonder how it actually works cause U gotta crack it before it lights up....
About 10 ish the Act we were waiting for came on stage and the crowd that was sitting pretty far away during the opening acts crowded in front... We had a pretty good view.... The lead singer was probably the size of my thumb.. hahahha.... They started of with "Misery" and continued with "lifestyles of the rich and famous".... They played most of thier popular songs which is good cause I didn't really know thier stuff.... "Keep your hands off my girl" was the total bomb... *and if it were a bomb it would probably have been nuclear.. hahhaa* the other bomb was "I just wanna live".. * this one is atomic* and had great jumping! I like dance floor anthem though... "I don't wanna be in love, I don't wanna be in love" not yesterday night at least.. that's what the lead singer said...
I wonder if U guys figured out which concert I went yet... Yeah yeah It was Good Charlotte's.. so nice..... omg... I wasn't a fan though... and I don't think I'm a fan yet... but their stuff is pretty good... *secretly I didn't really like them last time.. but now they are rising up the ranks* My heart will only have Dashboard Confessionals... hahahha...
Other songs that they played was "the river", "we believe", "hold on" which was really nice too cause they turned down the lights and every held a light.... nice.... , "girls and boys", "All Black", "March On" which was pretty motivating and thier final song was "The Anthem" very nice song to end with....
I forgot the flow of songs so too bad.. they left the stage for a few minutes a quite a lot of people from the front walked behind and we moved in front.. Good Charlotte came on back though and now they were the size of my palm.. hahahha... took a couple of pics with my phone but couldn't really see who was on stage... but I know who was who alr cause I took the picture whut...
Shall put the clearer shots here...

This one is a shot of the MTV LIVE featuring Good Charlotte huge Balloon... it looked like a moon to me... and the words with MTV LIVE couldn't be seen.... but who cares.. it's the music that counts no?

I actually didn't want to blog about this but it was really great... 2 thumbs up great so I blog lar... and to make people like zyenn jealous also... kakakkakakka... on a sad note though... my watch clasp gave way and my watch fell on to the floor and shattered the glass... it's fixed now though...

A last note... Live music is so darn awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Joel was pretty funny... he had a nice rapport going to so good job
P.P.S. since I wasn't really familiar with their work I kinda mumbled my way through certain songs... hahahahahha.... but thier lyrics aren't that hard to figure out so it wasn't half bad... very nice too... the Sing along was REALLY nice!Labels: Gush, Review

Odd.... non-book person
Tuesday, March 27, 2007
I discovered something really odd and this oddness ain't good. I noticed that everytime after I post a "notice" about me taking a break/ idling time/ sabbatical from blogging I end up blogging a few days later... -.-"" talking bout being idle.. this oddness is pretty dumb actually. Next time I shall put I'll be idling and then when I post in the next few days I'll remove the idle notice...
Ok right. Me being a "non-book person" tned to go to a lot of book sales. -.-" But I don't even like to read. I think my mum has been succesful in making me read, that's why she's able to drag me to any book sales that are near by. Sales clearance by Popular, Times, Mph and Big Book shop will have an "honourable" visit by me unless of course I feel too lazy to pop in.
Right... so this time there was the Big Book Shop sales at Atria which just ended on Sunday. I actually attended the sales on the first day itself. *talk about being a non-book person* got 2 books one was pretty interesting and the other one... well I'm kinda getting through it. I initially wanted 4 books but I'm a little too stingy to pay for it myself... hahahhaha
I obtained

"Blink: The power of thinking without thinking" by Malcolm Gladwell very interesting book and a really easy read too and

"Life swap" by Jane Green.
And on the last day of the sales I went again... -.-" hmm the arrangement before and after is a little diferent. There are new books too... wow.... this time I got
"Around the world in 80 dates" by Jennifer Cox , i wanted this on the first visit *they are actually making a movie out of this one, it's coming out next year though*, and

"Sea Otters Gambolling in the Wild Wild Surf" by John Bennett. I noticed another thing too.. I tend to gravitate towards books with odd titles such as "Sea Otters gambolling in the wild wild surf", I don't even know wat gambolling means.... oh before I forget, the otter on the cover is kinda cute.. hahahha
Hmm I think that's about it.. I shall flee now.. and come back when I feel like "idling" hahahLabels: Gibberish, Review

Velocity
Friday, January 05, 2007
First up, I admit I'm not a book person but I do read books. Incidently, clearance sales seem to pop up where it's convenient for me to visit multiple times and during these, at least half a dozen times, visits I stumbled upon a book so captivating that I couldn't keep my hands away from it. That is until my mum said "too expensive", then back to the table it went. Of course I tried persuading, but my persuading power is really terrible!
If I wanted that particular book, I have to get it myself. As stingy as I am, I took 18 bucks and headed to the supposed second last day of the sale, it was supposed because the sale has been extended to the 28th of January, grabbed the book and headed back home happily.
"The Terminal Man" had to wait, this book was far too captivating. If ur wondering what book has so much power to draw me into buying my first ever book, it's Dean Koontz's Velocity.

Synopsis
A lonesome bartender by the name of Billy Wiles has been chosen by a "freak" to choose his first victim. Would it be a blonde school teacher or an old lady involved in philantrophic work? With his action or inaction, Billy chooses the victims and the killer gladly kills them. Billy is soon trapped into being an "associate" of the killer or even worst, the suspect of all the killings. *ok my synopsis sucks* Billy has to cover up and is soon in too deep to get himself out. *actually he was already in too deep before, he just doesn't know*. *now something from the back cover*
"More comunications from the killer follow, more hideous choices, with ever tighter decision times, and with each choice Billy is drawn deeper into an accelarating nightmare, which steadily becomes more personal, more confrontational, until he is isolated, with no one to turn to and no one to rely on but himself. Finally he must risk everything to save the intended victims..."
ok that was the synopsis. Now,
My Review:
The story which is a thriller is actually quite predictable, I mean how many people can the author introduce into a novel without his/ her readers knowing who was resposible for the killings. The answer of who the killer is obvious, but the novel is so cleverly written that U forget who that person is as the author plants another name into ur head! Unlike other typical endings, this ending was pretty surprising to me, pretty amazing actually. This novel is a real psychological thriller, it shows how "involved" the killer is, sadistic, very intelligent, still posses a little compassion and sadly mentally unsound. The characters in the novel are actually quite real *euphemism for flawed*. Makes it such a great read. Really.
Seriously speaking, the starting was a ok. then the pace of the story kinda slowed. Then it slowly picked up speed and the climax was just pure velocity like a real roller coaster!
Pros: definite thriller, flawed characters *which means real/ believable*, a fresh read from normal police / killer thrillers, definitely worth my 18 bucks! hehe..
Cons: A little slow, a little too scary if such a person *the killer* lived in the real world, can't really root for the main character - don't really feel like rooting for him.
I think lately I'm into psychological thrillers. First Criminal Minds now Velocity. It can get quite spine chilling to actually read or watch what goes through the bad guys' minds... So my purpose of this entry is ultimately to promote it.. hahaha I'm just suggesting. Speaking of velocity look at the time, I better be off. Cheerios!Labels: Gush, Review, Thoughts

Movie Marathon numero 3
Friday, December 15, 2006
Wow.. the last movie marathon was like when?? Regardless, Movie Marathon is back or was back or came back... uh nvm... It was fun nonetheless.
Movie marathon was about wow... 24 hours long.... impressive... actually saw 6 movies in 24 hours... hmmm not bad... I think... half of the time... HEY! where did the other half go?
Ok cutting to the chase. Everything started yesterday at approximately 1:30pm ish... had pot luck. I brought some garlic bread and chicken, potato mushroom thingy. Zyenn brought pasta salad. Vatty made tuna sandwiches and Yeen made sushi, jelly and cookies.... *I think I just made her sound really hardworking, hahahah nvm*
actually we only started eating about 4pm... lunchner? oh nvm.... took pics and all. Haven't got the pics from them yet so no pics here. Ate till we got stuffed and all. Then we started our movie watching. But first I want to do some "rewinding".
2 hours before actual movie watching: we went DVD purchasing and laughed at some DVD titles. we reached the Movie Marathon lair an hour before it started. Did some hiding and started preparing the sandwiches. A couple of minutes before start of movie marathon. Yeen mysteriously stumbles upon a cute little snowman that was sitting in the remote control pouch. She squeals and starts saying "so cute"s and "thank U"s. Situation becomes insane for a mo and she runs around frantically. then everything cools beofre we start eating. Lovely lovely. * I kinda exaggerated a lot*
Back to start of movie marathon. *the backtrack can be pretty confusing so bear with me. I want to try honing my story telling skills* Death note get pops into the DVD player. Gibberish subtitles appear. The mandarin subtitles make sense, but I read slow. The thai is pretty hard to be read by people that dunno thai. The malay and english ones were plain LAUGHABLE! *nough said*
couple of minutes into the movie and then we gave up. Infernal affairs is popped in at that KICKED off the Movie Marathon. Lovely lovely start...
Movie #1
Infernal Affairs
I think this is my 3rd time watching. Still a good movie and all. Forgot how the show started though. However I knew exactly who was gonna die when. so I can't really judge this movie.
Seriousness factor: 4 of 5
Quotes from Yeen :" how can he die?" "but he's a good guy"
Quotes from Zyenn: "he so cute lar" *referring to Chapman To*
Movie #2
John Tucker Must Die!
Hmm this was pretty good. It was good while it lasted actually. the ending was kinda predictable. it would be nice if it were different but oh well. feel good movies are meant to make people feel good. John Tucker was sizzling... but I prefer the "other" Tucker. I must say though, John Tucker is the luckiest person on earth! I particularly liked the last part where the 3 japanese girls were looking at John Tucker's picture and the last one went:" Holy Jama Lama" (John Tucker must die, 2006)
Laughable factor: 4 of 5
Quotes from Vatty: "what sort of ending is that"
Quotes from Me: "Probably they will all become good friends in the end.. hahaha"
Quotes from Yeen:" He (John Tucker) looks so familiar"
Quotes from Zyenn: "There.... he was in Desperate Housewives"
Movie #3
Silk
Mmmm.. now this one was interesting! It had Chang Chen as the lead actor and some other Japanese actor, which I didn't catch the name though I believe I seen him in a drama serial about doctors before. Chen Bo Lin and Karena Lam was also inside. For some no apparent reason I actually like Karena Lam. Dan't ask me why.. she tends to choose really wierd films too... Oh well.. Back to "The Silk". The story is about how a team of police get to catch a spirit and the Japanese guy is trying to find out how does the spirit continue living on earth.
Pretty interesting show. Though it can be pretty scary at certain parts. this show emphasizes on the mother-son bond which is pretty touching.
Chill factor: 4 of 5
Quotes from Yeen: "Don't look into the eye"
Quotes from me: "where's the silk?"
Quotes from Zyenn: "why the lady must walk like that?", "what is the gf doing there?"
I don't remember wat Vatty said.. sorry eh.... she was probably lost in translation.
Movie #4
Rob-B-Hood
I was actually pretty blown away by this show... maybe not so "kua jiong" lar but it was really entertaining... Plus Jackie Chan is still pretty agile. The jumping scene from one aircond to another reminded me of Casino Royale. The baby is really CUTE.. I like his eyes.... some of the dialogue was pretty corny. Especially the one between Nicholas Tse and Daniel Wu... hahahhaha that scene in particular was crappily funny... hahaha really LOL...
I didn't like the way Louis Koo treated Charlene Choi... so sad... kept asking her to go away... well at least he made up for it. Hopefully I didn't spoil too much for people that haven't seen it.
Fun factor: 4 1/4 of 5 *I'm pretty stingy with my marks*
Quotes from Yeen and Vat: "the baby so cute"
Quotes from Vatty:"What? Broke broke mountain?"
Quotes from me:" the car so nice" lol...
Movie #5
An American Haunting
I must say this is pretty much a horror movie but it hmm... I can't say it's entire horror. It's quite a sad story actually. I say people, U have to see to understand. It was pretty eerie but everything became clear towards the end.
Spook factor: 3 3/4 of 5
Quotes from Yeen: "you won't be scared when the movie ends"
Quotes from Zyenn: "What is he doing hunting at night", "people never learn"
Quotes from me:" cause they didn't have dvd's back then so they can't learn lor"
Quotes from Vatty:" Right very wise of U to play with the kid that no one can see"
Now a little backtrack.
Before the start of Rob-B-Hood we went for some snacks.. or rather it was dinner. We did some more hiding of certain goods.. the previous spot was too hard to be found.... started rob-b-hood and Yeen still hasn't noticed an extra soft thingy lurking in the blanket. she seats and stands and seats repeatedly and finally... "what's this?" "dunno" "why did U bring ur's here?" "maybe it's ur's" "mine is upstairs, it's much longer" "beats me man, mine is at home hanging round my bro's elbow" *purple is Yeen's and blue is the rest of us* And then I forgot wat happened... regardless she received her present and out job is done as she removed the dog's "tongue"
The movie ended at 4 ish in the morning... headed to Yeen's room to dunno do wat.... Reminiscended on the past and chit chatted till teh wee hours of the morning... till daybreak in actual fact... Then one by one each of us dozed of at about 6am... wanted to wake up at 7 ish to continue our marathon. Yeen said :" let's lie down for another 5 mins". And what do you know... 5 mins became 3 hours plus... took our time irritating the sleeping kid. She should be glad we didn't snap pics...
Had our lunch and continued our marathon.... but Vatty left before that so sad..... but the show MUST GO ON! Halloween resurrection was picked out... but I was too freaked out to watch it so was Yeen I guess so we watched Step up instead.
Movie #6
Step Up
Hmm.. as a whole it was pretty disappointing... it was entertaining at certain parts... generally though it was slow. I have a feeling the movie could have just ended in an hour. Heck it might have been better if it were a musical.. hahaha
Dance factor: 3 of 5
Quotes from Yeen and Zyenn: "So slow lar"
soon Zyenn left and it was me and Yeen, we played "speed" and I lost... :( nvm vengeance will be mine... As a whole it was a BLAST! and I got high... oh we named Yeen's toys hahahahhha ok I better sleep. I can't believe I'm still awake... how much energy can be replenished in 3 hours plus? Good nite now... Oh I feel like changing this skin... oh well cheerio!!Labels: Movie, Review

Il Mare or The Lake House?
Sunday, November 05, 2006
I finally saw The Lake House after a pretty long time of waiting... and well it kinda met expectations... though some parts fell a little short... since I have seen both the original and the remake.. I shall start comparing... *there might be a little biasness as I kinda like Jeon Ji Hyeon, hahaha *
The Lake House

is the remake of "Il Mare" or "Siworae"
Time to compare
Storyline
Female lead leaves house and leaves a letter in the letter box to inform the next owner about a letter she is waiting for and send it to the new address. The male lead moves in and finds the letter except that it doesn't make sense because the male lead is the first owner of the house. One lives in the future the other lives in the past. They live 2 years apart. Soon they start exchanging letters and find out that the letter box is kinda "possesed" *hahah* and ultimately they both fall in love. But then something happens and some one must stop it from happening.
Ok both movies share the same storyline except that some smaller details are changed a little.
Il Mare: Had a pretty smooth storyline. The love between the male lead and female lead had a build up and the time they spent "together" was a joy to watch. There were no major loopholes.
The Lake House: Although it kinda followed "Il Mare" the storyline was a kinda choppy and some parts of it were not really connected as the storyline was changed a little to give Sandra Bullock a smarter role. Some things didn't make sense like the letter which Sandra Bullock is waiting for.... who is she waiting for? or what letter is she waiting for? The questions were not answered. And how Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves started the relationship was pretty quick... they suddenly asked personal questions about each other and each of them complied... odd...
Verdict: Il Mare's was smoother not choppy too which is already a very good thing.
The House
Il Mare: The house in this movie is by the sea and was built by the male lead's father for the male elad to show his love for his estranged son. This house by the lake is pretty nice... pretty liveable too.. I think...
The Lake House: The house in this movie is by the lake and was built by the male lead's Dad is a tribute to his wife or rather show his love for her. What a beautiful glass house, it's like my fantasy house by the sea. Plus there's a tree in the middle! So cool! The location however seemed a little eerie due to the fact taht there were a lot of tall grasses surrounding the road towards the house.
Verdict: I prefer the Il Mare house cause it's liveable and doesn't have an eerie surrounding. The lake house one kinda lacked privacy... Well it's all glass what did U expect?
Now for the actors!
The character - An Architect who just came back from somewhere and moved into the movie title's house. He recieves a wierd mail and starts exchanging letters with the writer of the mail. Soon he falls in love with the writer of the mail. He is estranged from his father because of what happened in the pass. After the death of his father, he realises how muchhis Dad actually loves him. This is where the similarity ends.
Il Mare's Lee Jung Jae
After falling in love with the female lead, he tries to stop something from happening which proves fatal for him. Lee Jung Jae grasped the role pretty well. I could feel his hatred for his Dad and his love for the female lead. Ah! in Il Mare, Lee Jung Jae character builts a house for Jeon Ji Hyeon's character to show how much he loves her I guess.
The Lake House's Keanu Reeves

In this remake, Keanu Reeves's character has a brother and actually talks to his Dad. I didn't really feel the hatred the character ahd with his Dad. They actually seemed to have a relationship working for them. Probably that's why i didn't feel the hatred for his Dad. Keanu Reeves's character is a very desperate man I must say. He feels so eager to meet Sandra Bullocks character!
Verdict: Lee Jung Jae. Much better acting. Seriously! and I preferred Lee Jung Jae's role. much more manly I would say and wasn't as desperate as Keanu Reeves's character.
Now for the tougher part, the actresses!
This is much tougher as the scriptwriters changed the characters.
First up, Il Mare's Jeon Ji Hyeon
Jeon Ji Hyeon's character works as a voice actress * does voice over for children's programmes*. She left a letter in the letter box of the house by the sea to tell the next owner of the house to send a mail she is waiting for to her. She is actually waiting for a letter from her "boyfriend" which went "dunno where" to study. She has been waiting for about 2 years if I remember correctly. She always felt that she shouldn't have let him go that's why she feels quite miserable actually.
Now for the lake house's Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullocks character is a doctor and like Jeon Ji Hyeon's character left a letter in the letter box of the lake house to tell the next owner to send any letter addressed to her to her new address. From whom the letter she is waiting for was not answered. The scripwriters kinda cut it out from the film I guess. She is msot probably waiting for a letter from her ex-boyfriend i guess but that doesn't make sense as her ex actually gets to call her up and go for dinner... so what letter is she actually waiting for?? She too didn't want to break up with her bf *i think* but somethings just happen.
Verdict: It's hard to compare as both did a good job grasping the characters. But ultimately Jeon Ji Hyeon's character makes much more sense. *maybe cause i like Jeon Ji Hyeon, hahaha *
Fine Moments
Il Mare: When the main characters throw pasta at the wall and when they go out "together".
The Lake House: the image of the Lake House. hahahha frankly speaking, there wasn't much fine moments. the cool part would be when Keanu Reeves booked a table for 2 years later.... and when Sandra Bullock told the name of the reservation to the hostess... heheh
Ultimately I prefer Il Mare over the Lake House some people might think otherwise. There are some things which the Lake House was better. It wasn't as slow as Il Mare that is the plus side. Oh and the Lake House has more characters too... hahaha
To be frank there were stuff in both shows that I didn't like.
For Il mare it was the ending. It would have been more captivating should they not have met in the end. Yeah I know people like happy endings but it would have been nicer if Jeon Ji Hyeon's character wasn't able to stop Lee Jung Jae's character from doing what he wanted to do.
For The Lake House it was the weak storyline. It wasn't woven properly. If it were a piece of clothing it would have been torn up a long time ago. There were plenty of holes that no one would even wear it *that might be a little too exaggerating* but Il Mare definitely wins hands down!Labels: Movie, Review, Thoughts
